You’ve heard the style adage “it’s all in the details.” But at Veeshee.com, a new custom bag, baby and home goods retailer based in Atlanta, details are more than a focus -- they’ve become an obsession.

It’s a more expensive way to do it, says Veeshee.com founder Brittany Martin -- but it’s also a better way.

“People can go through the lookbook images, see something they like and make it their own,” says Martin. “At Veeshee, the ultimate goal is for a customer to have an awesome experience at every point of contact -- from the online design studio to the fast turnaround and handcrafted, custom details.”

In 2011, Veeshee began as a simple monogramming website, with products sourced from third-party suppliers and embroidered in-house. But Martin began dreaming of creating bags that were truly personalized -- built from start to finish according to each customer’s specifications.

“2011 was frustrating,” she says. “We had products not meeting deadlines. A lot of vendors over-promising and under-delivering. We had to get more hands-on. We said ‘if we can’t get them right from someone else, why don’t we do it ourselves?’ That’s when we hired our first in-house seamstress.”

“We’re in the middle of the customization revolution,” Martin says. “It’s a natural progression to move toward allowing people to build a bag or a baby blanket how they want it -- not just giving them a limited selection.”
