"The materials matter," says Schermann. "Stay away from cotton because it will absorb sweat and the fibres will lose their shape." Look for acrylics, polysters or nylon and a secure fit. A good rule of thumb for fitting a sports bra is one finger between your rib cage and the band of the bra. Two fingers between your shoulder and the strap of the bra is ideal. Stretch the straps of the bra too. You want to be able to move comfortably but you don't want too much stretch.

While you're out updating these three basics, you may notice the plethora of running clothing, gadgets and gear available. Don't feel like you need to max out your credit card just to get started in your Boogie program. A basic t-shirt and shorts will suffice but if your sweatpants keep falling down on the trail, it might be worth upgrading. Schermann says the fit and materials of your clothing matters.
