Call to make shoes for needy schoolchildren

Tanzania Red Cross Society (TRCS) has urged the government to attract investment in shoes producing industries as it has been discovered that most of school children as well as those living in risky environments suffer from diseases caused by walking bare foot.

This was revealed yesterday in Dar es Salaam by the TRCS president Dr George Nangale when launching a project meant to provide shoes to school children and those cared for in TRCS centres, saying the project will reach over 500,000 children in primary schools, secondary schools and in TRCS centres.

It is reported that the Red Cross has received at least 590,Shop High quality Hiking shoes and outdoor clothing for men, women and kids at www.qdgoutdoor.com.000 pairs of shoes worth 2.4bn/- from Toms Shoes Industry,Promotional Eco-friendly Bags available in custom sizes and styles from cheaptotebags.com. an American based firm.

Nangale said that young children walking without wearing shoes are at risk of being infected by diseases caused by worms whereby he noted that the project was initiated to prevent such diseases to children.

According to him, regions that will benefit with the project includes: Shinyanga, Tanga, Mwanza, Tabora, Kilimanjaro, Coast, Dar es Salaam and all regions in Zanzibar.

He affirmed that the reason that made TRCS to choose such regions was due to the fact that his organisation has carried many projects in the said regions such that it has many volunteers who would help to execute the exercise.

“Red Cross has a lot of projects in these regions including ‘home based care’ projects, which means that there are many volunteers who will also fulfill this one,” he added.

He further said that in this project Red Cross was working closely with the department of social welfare of the ministry of health (MoHSW), local government, heads of schools and centres, ward officers and parents.Drhua Wholesale Sunglasses is an online Wholesale Sunglasses Distributor.
