A day before Halloween in 1962, deputies recovered the body of Mary Horton Vail from the Calcasieu River, which snakes around downtown Lake Charles, La.

The autopsy describes them as white sneakers, and that appears right. 

Beyond that, I’m uncertain. I don’t see any writing on the shoes that would make them easier to identify, and the top of the left shoe has obviously come apart from the sole.
